with staying well and losing weight?
We all know that optimum weight is something everyone needs to be striving for, if we are going to live healthy and happy lives we need to find the foods that will achieve this without leaving us feeling unhappy and hungry.
Research shows that the best foods for enjoying good weight are those that don’t cause a sharp rise in blood sugar levels. Balanced blood sugar is associated with physical and emotional health, as well and longevity. In fact, steady blood sugar levels are the one thing that every person who lives over 100 (centurion) has in common.
Foods that cause a spike in blood sugar are generally sugar and refined carbohydrates. They cause the body to produce insulin, which turns the sugar into fat and is stored in our bodies; Insulin also makes you crave the same sugar and refined carbohydrate food constantly.
Leading to weight gain and a variety of health conditions including diabetes. Cutting down on carbohydrates and sugar is the first step to bringing your weight and overall health into balance.
But while it’s all well and good to talk about cutting down on carbohydrates, it can be excruciatingly painful for those who are addicted to them. And carbohydrate addiction is far more common than you think. Just try cutting them out for a day to find out how difficult it can be.
The key is to find a delicious low carbohydrate food, that’s available good for all the family, keeps you full and is 100% safe and healthy.
Well we have the answer it’s Herbalife Formula 1, it can be seen and ordered at http://www.giftofhealth.co.uk the formula 1 comes in different flavors and mixes with anything you like.
The best way to take it is with soya milk as it’s no fat, cholesterol or lactose but it has protein the one thing your body needs to give a good shape change but also curbs hunger.
Soya is the main component of Formula 1, it has the ability of a slow release of energy into the body, so two shakes a day and a sensible meal will get your health on track really quick without the hunger, check my result on http://www.giftofhealth.co.uk
The Herbalife weight loss plan has two other components the Formula 2, a powerful multi vitamin that is in such a low useable dose your body uses it all, not like the commercial ones that have far too much and your body dumps it, take one three times a day, but on this subject on blood sugar levels we have the Fiber and Herb tablet, we take two three times a day with large glass of water.
Fibre and herb, we are recommended to consume 24grams of fibre a day, studies suggest we, if we try still only having 8 grams the rest of us less.
Fiber is in two components, digestible and indigestible, both so very important, the digestible turns into a mush and lays across the tummy’s lining and slows the absorption of glucose into the blood stream, controlling the insulin levels.
The indigestible fiber swells up in the tummy, giving a feeling of fullness to help prevent over eating, it catches cholesterol that may ne in the food you eat and then passes through the digestive system cleaning it as it goes through the intestine.
So for snacks and that third meal, what can you eat that will help to balance the blood sugar levels? Well here are 7 of them that can help you get through the withdrawal of high carbohydrate foods.
Almonds: A study published in the International Journal of Obesity shows that people eating a diet rich in almonds lost more weight than those on a high-carb diet with the same number of calories. This goes to show that weight loss is not simply due to calorie counting. Almonds are bulky and filling, so you feel that you are getting some substance without the spike in blood sugar.
Quinoa: Although quinoa looks like a grain, it’s actually the seed of a green leafy plant. It is one of the best sources of amino acids, and is a good source of iron, potassium, and B vitamins. The reason why quinoa is an incredible super food for weight loss is that it’s packed with protein, but its grain-like texture makes it a fantastic substitute for rice, couscous, and other carbohydrates.
Millet: This is rich both in fiber, which makes your stomach feel full longer, and in protein, which keeps your blood sugar even, although it has the texture of a carbohydrate. And studies have shown a link between millet and weight loss. Some researchers believe that it’s the combination of phytonutrients and fiber that’s responsible for the lower rate of colon cancer in people who eat millet, rather than fiber alone.
Hummus: Because hummus is packed with protein, it fills you up, but again without any blood sugar spiking. Try to get hummus with olive oil rather than sunflower oil… or better yet, make your own sprouted raw hummus, which will provide you with an incredible amount of nutrients.
Avocado: Avocados offer a range of nutrients, and help you absorb other nutrients more effectively. They are also creamy and bulky at the same time, so they help people feel satisfied.
Lentils: Lentils are nutritious, flavorful, and are easy to prepare. Lentils, like beans, are a good source of protein. Lentils also provide calcium and phosphorus, vitamin B and iron.
Walnuts for Weight loss: Walnuts are a great snack food that will fill you up and help you to feel less hungry. They contain anti-inflammatory omega-3 fats, and a study at Loma Linda University showed that people who ate walnuts regularly had a reduced incidence of heart attacks. The research also asked people to add a quarter cup of walnuts to their diets, or for comparison, to remove all walnuts from their diets. They found that not eating walnuts led to weight gain.

What are free radicals? Why are they damaging to the human body.
And how do vitamin E and the other antioxidant nutrients help protect the body against free radical damage. We’ll attempt to answer these questions and help you understand why eating 5-8 servings per day of anti-oxidant rich fruits and vegetables can benefit your health. But first, a little background.
How Free Radicals are Formed
Normally, the chemical atom bonds that make the molecules the make up our cells don’t split in a way that leaves a molecule with an odd, unpaired electron. But when weak bonds split, free radicals are formed. Free radicals are very unstable and react quickly with other compounds, trying to capture the needed electron to gain stability.
Generally, free radicals attack the nearest stable molecule, “stealing” its electron. When the “attacked” molecule loses its electron, it becomes a free radical itself, beginning a chain reaction. Once the process is started, it can cascade, finally resulting in the disruption of a living cell.
Some free radicals arise normally during metabolism. Sometimes the body’s immune system’s cells purposefully create them to neutralize viruses and bacteria. However, environmental factors such as pollution, radiation, cigarette smoke and herbicides can also spawn free radicals.
Normally, the body can handle free radicals, but if antioxidants are unavailable, or if the free-radical production becomes excessive, damage can occur. Of particular importance is that free radical damage accumulates with age.
How Antioxidants May Prevent Against Free Radical Damage
The vitamins C and E are thought to protect the body against the destructive effects of free radicals. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals by donating one of their own electrons, ending the electron-“stealing” reaction.
The antioxidant nutrients themselves don’t become free radicals by donating an electron because they are stable in either form they act as scavengers, helping to prevent cell and tissue damage that could lead to cellular damage and disease.
Vitamin E, The most abundant fat-soluble antioxidant in the body. One of the most efficient chain-breaking antioxidants available. Primary defender against oxidation. Primary defender against lipid peroxidation (creation of unstable molecules containing more oxygen than is usual).
Vitamin C, The most abundant water-soluble antioxidant in the body. Acts primarily in cellular fluid. Of particular note in combating free-radical formation caused by pollution and cigarette smoke. Also helps return vitamin E to its active form.
The Antioxidants and Disease Prevention
Heart Disease. Vitamin E may protect against cardiovascular disease by defending against LDL oxidation and artery-clogging plaque formation.
Cancer. Many studies have correlated high vitamin C intakes with low rates of cancer, particularly cancers of the mouth, larynx and oesophagus.
The Lesson: Eat Your Fruits and Vegetables.
The antioxidants are believed to help protect the body from free-radical damage. But before you go out and stock your pantry with mega-doses of these vitamins, be warned: more is not always better.
The long-term effect of large doses of these nutrients has not been proven. Other chemicals and substances found in natural sources of antioxidants may also be responsible for the beneficial effects. So for now, the best way to ensure adequate intake of the antioxidant nutrients is through a balanced diet consisting of 5-8 servings of fruits and vegetables per day.
I look forward to attending his trainings as the content is so clear and you leave with a full picture of the subject, so this can be passed on to empower people to change their lives and health forever, there is much of his wisdom on the web site http://www.giftofhealth.co.uk Dr Heber is my inspiration to carry the knowledge on to others..
“Diet Foods: Healthy Foods That Help You Lose Weight and Combat Aging”, red/purples, orange, orange/yellow, green/yellow, green and white green. Dr. David Heber, director of the UCLA Collaborative Centres for Integrative Medicine, Chairman of the Herbalife Medical advisory board, Voted the number 1 doctor by the worlds doctors, who on this subject wisely pointed out: “Each colour group represents a set of phytonutrients: special chemicals the plants make to protect themselves from pests,” Heber said. “There are 100,000 colourful substances or more in edible plant species including fruits and vegetables. Each of the chemicals has unique characteristics — it’s the mixture of a variety of different colours that make the diet healthy.”
The following is an excerpt of Dr. Heber’s “superhero foods” with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that not only prevent you from getting the deadly Buddha Belly, but they will also slow down, and in some cases reverse the aging process as well fighting of the free radicals that are constantly attacking our bodies, they are in the air, the food we eat, and are constantly looking for an opportunity to develop and make us sick.
Try to eat at least one piece of fruit and vegetable from the colour groups to give your body the tools to fight back.
RED: Lycopene is what gives tomatoes and watermelon its red hue, as well as its antioxidant properties. The substance has been linked to lowering stroke risk and preventing heart disease.
ORANGE: The beta-carotene found in sweet potatoes, squash, carrots and corn have antioxidant properties, protecting your body from cell damage wrecked by free radicals.
ORANGE-YELLOW: You can reduce inflammation in your body thanks to the flavonoids found in citrus fruits, Dr. Heber said. The anti-inflammatory substance has also been linked to repairing cell damage and keeping arteries healthy. Also the vitamin C found in these fruits helps produce more collagen in your skin to help with the outer signs of aging: wrinkles.
YELLOW-GREEN: Load up on avocado, spinach and other yellow-green vegetables, Heber say. “These foods have lupene, which goes to the macula, the part of the retina that is exposed to the most ultraviolet lights. A common cause of blindness for people over 65 is age-related macular degeneration. It’s believed the antioxidant [lupene] localizing there prevents further damage to the eye.”
GREEN: Vegetables like broccoli, brussel sprouts, bok choy, mustard, wasabi and horseradish are in this family, according to Heber. “They have isothiocyanates in them, which have a lot of preventative and detoxifying effects in the body.”
WHITE-GREEN: Onion, garlic’s, chives, asparagus, etc. They’re all rich with the antioxidant allyl sulphide, says Dr. Heber.
RED-PURPLE: Grapes, blackberries, blueberries, pomegranates’ and cranberries are rich in polyphenol’s, which are anti-inflammatory.

Just looking at some blogs on Herbalife and other products and I have to smile, two things stand out, the first question is Do the products work and will I have to take them all the time?
The second is do you have to take them?
Well, lets look at this, I have a web site and on it are photos of me, not a random person, before I lost 79lbs in a short time ten years ago, so go to http://www.giftofhealth.co.uk and see me and others, then either come round to the house and check me out or look me up on face book because I’m still looking good after ten years.
Would I ever stop taking the products? No, I never feel hungry I have loads of energy and look younger than most people of 61 years.
Can you stop taking the products yes, will you put on weight? If you go back to your old ways of course you will, this is about change, you have to decide what’s good for you, health or illness, the choice is yours.
Do I take the products? Look at me, of course I do I take all the inner nutrition and targeted products and I also use the outer nutrition product every day.
Looking fat old and worn out is not cool, so do your self a favour and get on Herbalife and have a unique life.
When I’m promoting the fantastic Herbalife products, the reasons why they are so good for your body and health, for all the family, I get excited but most people yawn! It’s a shame, because if people gave just a few minuets to understand what our product has as an advantage they could improve their health and that of their families.
Take for example the Aloe skin care range, hair care that strengthens the hair eight times more than any other type, but more important it’s free of PARABENS, what are they you say, well I will tell you:
Parabens and their effects
Parabens are something that most people aren’t aware of – although many of us use them on a regular basis. Parabens are a chemical compound of para-hydroxybenzoic acid, and common types of parabens include butyl, propyl and ethyl parabens. Less common types include benzylparaben and isobutylparaben.
Parabens occur naturally in such things as blueberries, prunes and cinnamon although all parabens used commercially are made synthetically. A common use for parabens is as a food additive, usually to add color or flavor, and they are also known for their ability to reduce the effects of bacteria and spoilage. They are also commonly found in oil and glue products.
Parabens are found in a variety of everyday products – cosmetics, deodorant, face cream, shampoo and toothpaste. Check the list of ingredients on one of these products in your home and you will almost certainly see that parabens are included – an estimated 90% of cosmetic products include parabens.
For many years, parabens have been considered safe, both in the UK and overseas, as they are virtually non-toxic. An allergic reaction or sensitivity to parabens is extremely rare – especially considering how widely used they are. However, several studies in recent years have suggested that parabens might be more harmful than we think, although many results are inconclusive.
Studies have found that the biggest risk from parabens seems to be from the use of products that require a prolonged exposure to skin, such as skin creams and facial lotions. The longer that the parabens are on the skin, the more opportunity there is for parabens to be absorbed. When used in skin care products, parabens are absorbed directly into the blood stream rather than through the gastrointestinal tract.
One type of paraben – methylparaben – has also been linked to the premature aging of skin. A study undertaken in Japan indicated that certain cosmetic products may cause skin to age excessively when exposed to ultra-violet rays. Ironically, this compound can be commonly found in products designed to fight the effects of aging.
Some tests have indicated that parabens have caused an increase in oestrogen which can possibly affect the male and female reproductive organs. Some studies in men have shown that a low sperm count and a decrease in testosterone are directly related to the intake of parabens.
One of the biggest areas of concern is the effect of parabens on breast cancer. Several studies have found traces of parabens in women with breast cancer. There seems little doubt that parabens can affect breast tissue – but whether they actually increase the possibility of breast cancer is still uncertain.
It’s difficult not to come into contact with parabens – they are used in so many products that we use daily. Use of parabens is still legal in the UK and it’s an area that will continue to be watched carefully. If you are concerned, an increasing number of products are now being manufactured without parabens.
So, that’s why you really should use our products for all the family every day, giving total nutrition not only to the inner body but also the outer body.
You only have one body, if you don’t look after it where will you live? Order your nutrition at http://www.giftofhealth.co.uk
