What the experts just don’t know!
I was today looking at a BUPA Health News magazine that is sent out to members, I normally read them with despair, its surgeons touting for business, things you think simple until you put your claim in and the list that’s not covered emerges.
However this month there was an article, “5 Myths About Diet,” No2 was, “You need to drink at least six glasses of water every day, going on to say, in fact, most people get all the fluids they need through a combination of water juice milk tea and coffee, there is no set amount that you should drink every day- it’s just important to drink enough to prevent dehydration. If you do need to drink your body will soon let you know by making you thirsty, What a load of tosh!
What did I say about touting for business!!
Your body uses 1.7litres of water a day to exist, eating breathing perspiring, going to the loo.
What it is within our body, 75% of our brain, 82% of our blood, 22% of our bones, 75% of our muscles, it regulates our body temperature, helps carry nutrients and oxygen to our cells, moistens oxygen for breathing, helps convert food into energy, protects and cushions vital organs, helps body to absorb nutrients, cushions joints, removes waste from the body, so it’s pretty important, we cover this on the web site http://www.giftofhealth.co.uk
Fact; tea and coffee and alcohol dehydrate your body, liquid in any other form than water is processed by your body and so uses resources that should be used in keeping you healthy.
It’s true your body will find the fluid it needs to survive from foods and drinks, but at a price, using your body’s resources to filter liquids, so something suffers within, one of the first places that the internal organs are fed water from is your skin, early ageing is seen very clearly in people that don’t drink enough water, smoke, drink lots of coffee and alcohol, tell tail lines on the top lip and under the eyes.
Your body will not necessarily remind you that you are dehydrated, our brain often send signals that are miss interpreted, commonly people think they are hungry but its thirst that’s the problem.
Have a look next time you have a pee, if it’s a dark colour, well anything darker than from straw to clear colour, you are dehydrated, I guess that’s most of us at some time or other in 24 hour period.
SO YOU NEED TO DRINK EIGHT GLASSES OR TWO LITRES OF WATER A DAY TO HAVE HEALTHY SKIN AND NORMAL BODY FUNCTION. USE YOUR PEE AS THE GAUGE TO WATER HYDRATION HEALTH.
