PROJECT 10 Kids: Inspiration of a 12-Year-Old Boy

We’d love to grab our pom poms and personally cheer each one of you Challengers on—all the way to your 90-Day goal and beyond. We cannot get enough of your Challenge success stories! So when we get word of a 7th grader who’s decided to make significant lifestyle changes through PROJECT 10™ Kids, we want to hear all about it.
Jordan Moreno is a remarkable 12-year-old boy in Savannah, Georgia who has put himself on the road to a healthier and happier future. Here’s what he had to say about his journey:
Vi: What made you decide to start making nutrition and lifestyle changes at such a young age?
Jordan Moreno: When I couldn’t fit into my clothes any longer and actually saw the number on the scale, I thought it was time to do something different.
Vi: How do you like drinking the Vi-Shape® Shakes?
JM: I enjoy drinking the Vi shakes! To me, the shakes are like a healthy, delicious dessert that I can have any time of the day.
Vi: That’s awesome! How do you feel after you’ve finished drinking a Vi-Shape shake?
JM: I feel all filled up… and sad because the deliciousness is gone.
Vi: Do you have any personal goals for yourself?
JM: Yes, to have a six-pack!
Vi: Hey, us too! What has your experience been like so far as a PROJECT 10 Kid?
JM: I’m having an AMAZING time!
Vi: Have your friends or the kids at school noticed any differences in you?
JM: Totally! I am happier these days, which makes me more approachable with other kids. I became a recluse because of my weight. The other kids would make fun of me and I would yell at them. I was angry a lot. I wasn’t very friendly. Now, the Vi Shakes give me hope… They’re helping me love myself again.
Vi: [Deep breath, don’t get choked up.] Now THAT is amazing to hear. What would your message be to those who are hesitant to make changes in their lifestyle?
JM: You can do it as long as you don’t lie to yourself. Sitting around doing nothing will not make your situation any better. I was a miserable couch potato and now I feel so alive! If I can do it, you can do it. Really I’d say, ‘Just don’t give up on yourself!’
Vi: You are truly wise beyond your years. Is there anyone you look up to or would consider your hero?
JM: My hero is my neighborhood friend, LaMarcus. He’s 16 and was just like me. He said that he used to be fat and people made fun of him, but that he didn’t care what they thought of him. He said he thought he was a great person and that’s all that mattered. He really inspires me and helped me realize that I could be just like him. I AM a great person!
Vi: Wow, he really does sound inspiring. As do YOU, Jordan. But we were already impressed by the word “recluse.”
