6 Steps to Look Your Best On Your Wedding Day

Few things scream “it’s time to get in shape” more than your wedding. Your wedding day is much more than just a regular day. It’s when every bride wants to look and feel her best.

But with the stress of everything that a wedding involves – finding an unforgettable venue, the best photographer, beautiful flower arrangements, delicious food, and good music – planning for this special day can easily become a tower of stressful events for the couple. Adding to the stress of wedding planning, for your “big day’ may also include dieting and losing weight so you can fit in that perfect dress you have been dreaming about.

Stress can slow you down, but having your wedding day as a deadline can help you find the motivation you need to find a nutrition plan that works for you. These six tips will help you start on your goal of looking and feeling beautiful on your special day:

Herbalife Nutrition can help complement your diet with vitamin & mineral supplements which meets your individual needs. Order yours today at  http://www.richardhowlett.goherbalife.com with a thirty day money back guarantee the proof is in the eating!

1. Replace two meals a day with a protein shake

I suggest replacing breakfast and lunch with a protein shake that provides about 20 grams of protein and at least 200 calories to keep you full and satisfied until your next meal. The advantage to this approach is that a well-balanced protein shake provides easy protein and calorie control, since you know exactly what goes into it. And, with enough protein to help keep you satisfied, you’ll be less likely to make poor choices when you go out with your girlfriends. Rather than giving up time with your friends, I suggest you have a shake before meeting up, then socialising over a green salad with a little dressing on the side or a broth-based soup.

Check out Share a Shake for awesome shake recipe ideas!

2. Emphasise lean proteins and more vegetables at dinner

Cooking at home will give you a lot of control over what you eat and how much. If you do use the meal replacements for two meals a day, your third meal should place an emphasis on lean proteins and vegetables. Build your meal on proteins such as poultry breast or fish—and have both a vegetable salad and cooked vegetables alongside. Also, limit your starch to one small portion and, if you do have a starchy side, choose whole grains whenever possible.

3. Have a planned, healthy snack in the afternoon

A well-planned snack in the afternoon can help take the edge off hunger at dinner time. It’s also a great time to sneak in some extra fruits and vegetables. Rather than grazing on sweets or crisps, try to eat a protein-based snack such as a small carton of yogurt, a protein snack bar, some raw veggies with hummus or a little bit of cottage cheese with fruit.

4. Add fruit to protein shakes

You need two or three servings of fruit a day. An easy way to meet your needs is to add fruit to your shakes, which will allow you to have your daily fruit needs more or less covered.

5. Start keeping a food diary

Logging your food intake is a good idea for a couple of reasons. For one thing, it will help you to keep your calories in check. And it can also help you with your emotional eating as well. When you get the urge to eat, I suggest you pull out your food diary and write down how you are feeling instead. If you can delay the urge to eat, even if only by a few minutes, the hunger for a snack is likely to pass.

6. Have fun exercising

It’s important to combine exercise with your healthy diet in order to meet your goals. But choose activities that you enjoy – if you don’t, it’s unlikely you’ll stick with your exercise plan. Ideally, your exercise program will include both cardio and strength training – but you can get your cardio by fast walking, swimming, cycling or dancing, for example. Many people rely on food to cope with stressful situations; however, stress eating doesn’t usually take away stress – and often adds weight. Since exercise is a great stress-reducer, it can help you deal with the stress while losing pounds and toning your body – and will help ensure that you’ll look your best in that beautiful wedding dress.

The importance of vitamins and minerals – Your guide for an ideal diet

In an ideal world, we would get all our vitamins and minerals from the food we consume on a daily basis.

However, many of us lead very busy and pressured lives. Some of us may not have sufficient time to put together a detailed and well
thought out dietary plan that addresses all our needs.

That is why vitamin and mineral supplements have an important role to play as they are designed to complement and support our daily diet, to help ensure that our intake levels of essential micronutrients are maintained at an optimum level.

A healthy, balanced diet is important in order to obtain all of the nutrients which are key to our health. However, few of us find it easy to live up to this ideal.

The use of vitamin and mineral supplements can reduce dietary gaps and improve nutritional status without exceeding safe levels of intake. There are many potential reasons to complement your diet with a vitamin & mineral supplement, depending on factors such as age, gender, dietary habits, and lifestyle.

Herbalife Nutrition can help complement your diet with vitamin & mineral supplements which meets your individual needs. Order yours today at  http://www.richardhowlett.goherbalife.com with a thirty day money back guarantee the proof is in the eating!

Kickstart your day: Chocolate Orange Protein Smoothie

Bloggers Dannii and Dave were looking for a delicious way to give their bodies the nutrition needed, as they rarely consume any meat.

The adorable couple behind the popular Hungry Healthy Happy blog tried Herbalife Nutrition’s vegetarian, gluten and dairy free, water-mixable shake, Pro 20, and loved the results.

Read on for the review, to order your products today visit  http://www.richardhowlett.goherbalife.com  Start you new nutrition regime today.

What better way to refuel after a workout or to start your morning than with a Chocolate Orange Protein Smoothie? The delicious combination of cocoa and fresh orange juice in a protein packed smoothie, thanks to Herbalife Nutrition’s PRO 20 Select protein shake.

Chocolate and orange has to be one of the best flavour combinations out there, and definitely the best sweet combination. I can almost imagine I am eating a chocolate orange, but really I am having a fruit packed smoothie with an added protein boost. You don’t get that in a chocolate orange!

I have just started running again and I want to make sure that I am refuelling properly. I eat meat probably once a month, so I need to get my protein other ways. There are a tonne of ways you can get enough protein if you don’t eat meat and whilst my diet is full of those kinds of meals, with an active toddler I don’t always have time for a sit-down meal, so I grab a protein smoothie. This Chocolate Orange Protein Smoothie is my favourite.

We have struggled to find a protein powder in the past that doesn’t taste weird, and that Dave can have. A lot of protein powders are made with pea protein and because Dave is allergic to peas, that has limited our choice. When we were invited to try Herbalife Nutrition’s Pro 20 Select protein shake, we were excited to see that it didn’t have any pea protein in it and were looking forward to adding it to our diets as a post workout shake.

PRO 20 Select is a water mixable, high protein shake that is low in sugar and provides your body with key nutrients it needs. Each serving contains 20g of protein, 6g of fibre, and delivers a third of your daily recommended intake of 24 vitamins and minerals. You can just mix it with water for a simple protein shake, or you can add it to any homemade smoothie to give it a protein boost.

Herbalife Nutrition PRO 20 Select is vegetarian, gluten and dairy free and no artificial sweeteners or flavours and it is an ideal post-workout snack, as it helps to replenish your nutrient levels. We always encourage eating a balanced diet to make sure you are getting plenty of vitamins and minerals, but since having a child I have realised how difficult that can be for many when you are short on time. Adding this to my diet has meant that I know I am getting plenty of vitamins and minerals, even when I have been eating too much convenience food.

DON’T GO TO THE GYM? NO PROBLEM…

Protein shakes aren’t just for gym goers looking to bulk up. PRO 20 Select is great for anyone that is looking to maintain a nutritious and balanced diet or needs a healthy post workout snack. I have been having one of these for my breakfast a couple of times a week (in different variations of smoothies) and it has kept me going until my next meal.

I DON’T REALLY LIKE ORANGE…

That’s fine! Once you have the base of the chocolate protein smoothie, you can swap out the orange for some other fruits. I have tried chocolate and cherry, chocolate and cranberry and chocolate and mint. You have so many options here, but they are all full of chocolatey goodness!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THIS CHOCOLATE ORANGE PROTEIN SMOOTHIE.

1 Large banana
2 scoops Herbalife Nutrition Pro 20 Select
4 Large Strawberries
Juice of 1 Orange
3 tbsp Cocoa powder
500ml Almond milk
1 tbsp Honey

HOW TO MAKE A CHOCOLATE ORANGE PROTEIN SMOOTHIE

One: Break up the banana and add to a blender
Two: Slice the strawberries and add to the blender
Three: Add the Herbalife Nutrition Pro 20 Select
Four: Add the Cocoa powder
Five: Add the honey
Six: Add the almond milk and orange juice.
Seven: (not shown) Blend until smooth.

SOME EXTRA TIPS FOR MAKING THIS CHOCOLATE ORANGE PROTEIN SMOOTHIE:

This doesn’t have a strong banana taste, but if you really don’t like banana you can leave it out. It just won’t be as sweet, but it will still be nice and thick because of the protein powder.
You can swap honey for maple syrup.
You can use cow’s milk instead of nut milk, but I think the flavour of almond milk works really well.

Recipes with Rachel Allen- Chicken Casserole

For the breakfast and lunch it’s a tasty F1 shake, mid morning and afternoon a healthy snack and for an evening meal try this!

To order your F1 shakes and healthy snacks just go to  http://www.richardhowlett.goherbalife.com the products will be with you in three days.

POP on those aprons and get ready to cook! BBC Chef  Rachel Allen has joined forces with Herbalife Nutrition to bring you 14 delicious recipes you can work into your healthy lifestyle.

Balanced, healthy and packed with protein and vitamins, these recipes are a great support for your health & weight goals – whether you’re losing weight, building muscle or focused on fat loss.

We’re kicking off with a hearty chicken casserole loaded with veggies that is great for the whole family. Then get to work on your own homemade nut butter – perfect add-on for shakes, oats, toast (and everything in between). AND a total protein power-house too.

Chicken casserole

Serves 4-6

A hearty, warm and comforting casserole that’s packed with protein and veggies – perfect for cold winter evenings or as a restorative dish after you’ve worked out.

INGREDIENTS

  • Whole chicken, joined into pieces, or 4 whole legs, divided into 4 drumsticks and 4 thighs
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3 large carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 4 onions, peeled and cut into halves through the root
  • 6 potatoes, peeled and cut in half if very large
  • A couple of sprigs of thyme or rosemary
  • Approximately 400ml chicken stock

METHOD

Place a large frying pan on a high heat for about 5 minutes until nice and hot. Pour a drizzle of olive oil (you can use coconut oil if you prefer) into the pan, place the chicken pieces in (skin side down) and cook for a few minutes until golden underneath.  Season with salt and pepper then turn over and cook on the other side. Once the chicken pieces are golden, transfer them into a casserole pot or a saucepan (you may need to cook them in a couple of batches if you’re pan isn’t large enough to take them all at once).

Toss in the carrots and the onions, seasoning as you go, and cook over the high heat for a couple of minutes until ever so slightly golden around the edges. Transfer these into the pot so they sit on top of the chicken pieces.

With the heat still under the pan, pour in the chicken stock and bring it to the boil, whisking the bottom of the pan to dissolve any juices stuck to the pan. While the stock is coming up to the boil place the peeled potatoes and the herbs over the vegetables. Now pour the boiling stock over the potatoes, season with salt and pepper and cover with a lid.

Allow to cook gently on the hob for about 40 minutes, until the vegetables and chicken pieces are cooked, or place in an oven preheated to 160’C, until cooked.

Serve the chicken and vegetables in shallow bowls with the steaming broth around it.

To order your F1 shakes and healthy snacks just go to  http://www.richardhowlett.goherbalife.com the products will be with you in three days.

Herbalife Nutrition Formula 1

I received a Herbalife Nutrition Formula 1 hamper from my friends at Immediate PR to review including the Green Goddess and Fruit Burst shakes. The descriptive names give you a clue as to what these shakes are made of. For those of you who love eating vegetables and greens, The Green Goddess is a treat for your senses. While Fruit Burst needs no introduction. I really liked both and I highly recommend them especially if you don’t have access to good quality, healthy food for breakfast or lunch. Sometimes we rushing so much in the morning or at lunch we grab something quick but not necessarily good for us.

Green Goddess

The Green Goddess is a tasty meal replacement shake. It is fresh, light and boasts gut cleansing qualities while it is a great way to incorporate greens into your diet. I am guilty of not eating enough greens like celery, cucumber and spinach. When I was growing up I watched Popeye eat spinach and become instantly stronger! The Green Goddess is packed with 100g of spinach but I can’t promise you will fighting fit like Popeye, unfortunately! It is a good place to start though. When made according to the instructions there is only 220 kcal per serving. I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect this to taste as nice as it did. It is as tasty and refreshing as it looks and I think you will love it!

Ingredients

  • 26g of Formula 1 Vanilla flavour
  • 100g of raw celery, roughly chopped
  • 100g of raw cucumber, roughly chopped
  • 3 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice
  • 250ml of milk
  • 150g of ice

Blend all the ingredients together until completely smooth.

Fruit Burst

The Fruit Burst is a shake packed with punchy flavour! If you are a fan of smoothies then you will like Fruit Burst. I like eating fruit, particularly berries so this shake was a treat for my taste buds. Fruit Burst is made with ingredients such as 150g natural yoghurt, 15g of oats and 75g of seasonal berries which will definitely put a pep in your step. It is a delicious meal to have in the morning or for lunch. There is only 220 kcal per serving so it is a healthy alternative to wraps and sandwiches. I enjoyed having Fruit Burst for breakfast. It is certainly a great way to start the day.

Ingredients

  • 26g of Formula 1 Raspberry and Blueberry flavour
  • 150g of natural yoghurt
  • 100g of mango
  • 75g for seasonal berries
  • 15g of porridge oats
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon or lime juice
  • 150g of ice

Blend all the ingredients together until completely smooth.

Frank’s Thoughts

I have a keen interest in well being, fitness and healthy eating even though I don’t manage to achieve all these as consistently as  I would like. Basically, what I am saying is life can get in the way. That is not an excuse but we can feel tired in the evenings and eat something rubbish for us or skip breakfast to make the bus or train in the mornings. I think this is where Herbalife Formula 1 would be beneficial for people. These meal replacement shakes are so tasty and easy to prepare, it is a win-win situation! I’m a regular guy who likes to dress well, feel good, eat out in nice restaurants, have some beer or wine and look my best. Adding Herbalife Formula 1 is a great way to give yourself nutrients from veg or fruit you might be lacking in your diet. It isn’t a magic trick though so don’t expect miracles!

I am really impressed by the Herbalife Formula 1 meal replacement shakes. Usually, I am pretty sceptical about “wonder” products claiming they will do this and that. I think its different with Herbalife Formula 1 especially when preparing the shakes and seeing all the veg and fruits going into them. It is clear there are health benefits to using them. I recommend trying out Herbalife Formula 1 shakes. Check out the Herbalife Nutrition:    http://www.richardhowlett.goherbalife.com for more information.

That is all for now, I hope you enjoyed this post and it has provided you with some answers on Herbalife Nutrition Formula 1 meal replacement shakes. Don’t forget to check me out on  http://www.richardhowlett.goherbalife.com  for more lifestyle posts.

This has been Fashionable Frank and you have been Fantastic!

Until Next Time,

“Super quick and easy to make”: In-depth review of the new Formula 1 Banana Cream

FORMULA 1 is all about supporting a healthy lifestyle on the go – as demonstrated here by blogger (and busy mama!) Gemma Louise. Read on to see what she thought of the new generation Formula 1 Banana Cream.

All the information on the products and where you can order yours today visit:  http://www.richardhowlett.goherbalife.com   you could be starting on the path to super nutrition within three days!

A quick & easy meal to see you out the door…

I don’t know about you, but as a mum of a two year old, life can be very hectic – particularly when I’m trying to get ready on a morning. As a work from home mum, my mornings usually consist of running around the house after my whirlwind of a toddler, trying to feed him six different breakfasts until he finally decides he likes one, and trying to get us both ready without having a mental breakdown. And that’s before I’ve even started working. I can’t actually remember the last time I sat down and ate breakfast, it was probably at least two years ago.

I never go without my coffee ~ a complete essential in my everyday ~ but I’ve started looking for things I can add into my morning routine to give me a bit of an extra boost and stop me from feeling starved by lunch time. The Herbalife Nutrition shakes are perfect for this, not only are there endless ways that you can make them up to keep things from getting a bit boring – but they are full of protein and vitamins and they’re so nutritious! Today I’m chatting about their new flavour, Banana Cream, and the benefits of adding it into your weekly routine, as well as the different ways in which I like to make mine.

Formula 1, Banana Cream…

To start off with, and lets face it one of the most important factors, is that this shake is super quick and easy to make. You simply whizz up two tablespoons of Formula 1 powder with 250ml of milk and you’re good to go. If you want to add extras to make it a bit more filling or tastier, that’s your choice – but if you’re really in a rush then it tastes good all on its own. Formula 1 offers convenience, taste and nutrition all in one shake.

You can choose to have one for breakfast, lunch or even dinner if you wish, it’s nutritious enough to replace an entire meal as part of a healthy and balanced diet. For anyone that likes to keep active, like gym goers, you probably already know a lot about protein shakes, F1 shakes already contain 18g of protein and can be customised with Herbalife Nutrition’s Personalised Protein Powder to add even more protein to your shake.

You can choose to use this as part of a diet if you’re trying to control your weight or you can simply add it to your daily routine as one of your daily meals especially when you don’t have time to eat in the morning. It contains 25 vitamins and minerals, including vitamin D which contributes to the normal function of the immune system to – so it’s perfect to drink during winter when the cold season begins.

It also contains Vitamin C; contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue one of the most essential factors for me when I’m having it for breakfast. You can find out more about the ingredients in depth on the Herbalife website.

How I like it…

As for this new flavour, Banana Cream – I personally hate bananas but the best part about this shake is that the banana flavour isn’t overpowering at all, they’ve got the flavour balanced just right and I really enjoy drinking this shake first thing on a morning or just as I’m running out the door! I’m not one for diets really, I try to eat as healthy as I can but any dieting or exercise I try to add into my routine never seems to last very long with how much I have on my plate, so I just do as much as I can here and there.

I have plenty of sweet treats during my week as I’m a true believer of a balanced diet, so if I have this shake late morning – close to lunch time then sometimes I love adding a table spoon of honey or syrup, especially lately whilst I’ve had a sore throat as honey is amazing for helping to clear up mucus. If I’m being a bit healthier then I usually just drink it on its own with fresh cold milk or add some fresh fruit, chia seeds or some greek yogurt. There’s so many different things you can add to it to give it a boost and make it even more filling and delicious!

Has it given me a boost?

Absolutely. I can’t tell you how nice it is to be able to quickly whizz one of these shakes up on a morning and not feel like my stomach is eating itself by 11am. One of the other fab things about it is that when I have loads of errands to run in a morning, I can pour it in my travel cup and just bring it with my in the car like I do with my coffee! It gives me a bit of an extra energy boost and stops me feeling starved at the same time. I’m totally sold on protein shakes now and I’m eager to try out some more flavours to add to my morning routine.
